James Kell’s performance at Round 3 of the Trent Valley Kart Club (TVKC) at PFi was packed with pace, strategy, and mixed fortunes. Here’s how it all unfolded.

Qualifying: Strong Start in Tough Conditions

Qualifying at PFi is always a challenge. With TVKC using a 3-lap average system, consistency is crucial. James Kell went out alone, avoiding traffic and hoping for clean air.
He set two solid laps, but slight contact on the third lap dropped his average. Despite that, he landed a strong P6 grid position, a promising start to the heats.

Heat 1: Front Pack Battles and a Solid Finish

Starting P8, James Kell made an excellent getaway and worked with the lead pack. Lap by lap, he climbed the order—pushing to P2 at one stage.
After a tense final few laps, he crossed the line in P4, showing great composure and racecraft.

Heat 2: A Scrappy Mid-Pack Fight

Heat 2 didn’t go to plan. A slow launch dropped James outside the top 10. The midfield was aggressive, with contact and loading throughout.
While battling near P10, a rival turned in despite James having the corner. The resulting collision sent him tumbling to P23—a frustrating result.

Final: Fast Recovery Cut Short

James started the final in P16. A poor start dropped him to P22, but he responded with an incredible fightback. Posting purple laps, he carved through the field, reaching P12 with precision overtakes.
Just as he was closing on the lead group, contact at the hairpin pushed him off track. Damaged tyres and no grip ended his charge. He crossed the line near the back—disappointing, considering top-five pace was clear.

Final Thoughts

James Kell’s TVKC Round 3 was filled with highs and lows. His PFi performance showed speed, skill, and resilience. On another weekend, the results would match the pace.
